"There's no need for you to be my servant, Zoey-Ling.  A Dragon God's son doesn't really have need of one.  But perhaps you can do two things for me." Fu-xi said as he turned to face her.

Zoey-Ling was shocked. A Dragon God's son. She didn't think of the power but why he was all by himself cause normally girls would flood around him. She sat on her knees "Anything my Lord..."

"First thing I would like is for you to let me see your face.  With that lovely black hair in the way, I can't exactly see you." Fu-xi requested.  He was attempting to brush some strands of hair from her face so he could see it better.

Zoey-Ling giggled when Fu-xi brushed aside some of her hair to show her topaz blue eyes. She smiled.

The color of her eyes surprised him.  How was it that she had eyes of the same color as his?  And the rest of her face was quite lovely too, if he was asked about it.
"Well now.  And I thought I was the only one with eyes like that." Fu-xi said in an admiring way.  He cleared his throat and the moment, the feeling, seemed to pass.
"Now the second thing I wanted is to know something.  If I show you my human form, will you promise not to be afraid?" he asked her.

Zoey-Ling held out her hand. "I vow not be afraid...after all you did save me.." she blushed a little bit

"So I did." Fu-xi said thoughtfully.  He backed away from her, giving himself more room.  He closed his eyes, held his head high, and concentrated.
The process of him becoming human again looked a little grotesque.  It looked as if his bones were breaking inside his body and his arms seemed to be sprouting like a plant at super speed.  The lower section of his tail split in half to take the shape of his legs.  His clothes appeared once his body looked human enough.  He was dressed in robes of bronze and brown, much like the scales of his snake form.  Slowly, he stood his full height and looked down at her.
"You see me as I really am now.  Allow me to introduce myself.  I am Lord Fu-xi." he told her, holding his hand out to her to help her to her feet.

Zoey-Ling smiled as she took his hand and she looked at his eyes. "Youre very handsome my Lord Fu-xi...and youre eyes are like mine but yours are more majestic...like a river.."

Fu-xi smiled at the compliment.  His smile combined with the smoldering flame in his eyes made his face seem rather sexy.  A chuckle came from low in his throat.
"I thank you for the compliment, even if I didn't properly earn it.  It's ironic that you say my eyes are like the river though.  Many of the dragons are associated with rivers." he pointed out.

Zoey-Ling smiled. She walked over to a cherry tree and picked a branch filled with blossoms and handed it to Fu-xi. "Here you go..." she sheepishly said her eyes sparkling. "No problem with the comment its something I always do..." there was a small breeze and it made her hair go all over.

"There is...something honest about you, Zoey-Ling.  I haven't seen that from other girls I've met.  If you would like to see me again, I would be more than pleased to oblige you." Fu-xi said as he inhaled the scent of the blossoms she gave him.

Zoey-Ling smiled as she faced him. "I would be honored if you came back cause when I was in the temple I prayed for a friend and you answered my prayer. Meet me at the docks at dusk I would like to see the sunrise together..."

"The sunrise.  How perfect that would be.  I would be happy to meet you there." Fu-xi answered her, a sort of joy he hadn't felt in a long time filling his heart.

Zoey-Ling smiled as she ran home and fell asleep. She couldnt wait for the sunrise

When Fu-xi returned to his home, he felt different  There was a lightness in his soul that made him feel as if he were walking on air.  He couldn't stop smiling.  His thoughts were full of the image of Zoey-Ling.  And he had kept the flowers she had given him.
"Father, was this what it was like you met my mother?  I feel like I am the Dragon who fell in love with the Fenghuang." At this he froze as he realized this startling truth.  He had only talked to her once, but already he found himself falling in love with her.  As he fell to sleep, he released a breath of sweet happiness.

Zoey-Ling woke up extra early. She took a bath and she brushed her hair into a bun and placed a cherry blossom in it. She smiled as she looked in the mirror and she put on a sky blue kumudo. She walked to the docks and began singing.

When Fu-xi woke that morning, the first thing he did was bathe, do his hair and get dressed.  He traded the brown in his robes for gold, since he was feeling happier.  He went to the docks just before the first pink light of dawn began to appear.
He found Zoey-Ling waiting there already.  He walked up behind her.  Once he reached her, he tapped her on the shoulder.
"Waiting for me?" he asked, playfully.

Zoey-Ling smiled as she felt Fu-xi's touch. "Yea." She sighed in wonder as they watched the sunrise. "Isn't just breathtaking?"

"Yes.  But not as beautiful as the vision before me." Fu-xi said, moving to sit closer to her.  His hand rested on top of hers and he clasped it.

Zoey-Ling blushed as she locked her eyes with his. "I...I am speechless but I am not that pretty theres other girls and I am different..." She sheepishly looked down.

Fu-xi reached out and turned her face to look at him.  For a minute, he just examined her face.  True, there were girls more beautiful than her.  But, she felt more pure, more real in that sense.  She had wanted him for the same reason he had longed for a companion.
"I know." he whispered. "And that's why I love you.  Because you are different." He closed the distance between them and kissed her softly on the lips.  The kiss was sweet only for a few seconds.  Soon, he was adding more passion to show that he meant it.

Zoey-Ling blushed as they shared a kiss. She wrapped her hands around him. "Oh Fu-xi...I love you too" She smiled as they pulled away.

"I can't help but wonder if this is how the Great Dragon Luang felt when he first met Fenghuang.  You are just like that to me, Zoey-Ling." Fu-xi told her, caressing her face.

Zoey-Ling took her hand touch his as he caressed her face. "I love you so much..." But something was she was curious. Was it forbidden for a demi-god to fall in love with a mortal?

Fu-xi drew her into a hug.  But he became confused when she didn't return it.  He pulled back to look at her and found that she seemed lost in thought.
"Zoey-Ling, is something bothering you?  Tell me what's on your mind." he pleaded with her.
