Jessica smiled as she was dancing in her room... she was even singing.

Jessica's dad was a wealthy man and he wanted Jessica to happy and when he saw her run upstairs he was worried. Jessica knew that she'd not tell him what happened. "Daddy I am fine just sleepy thats all..." He walked to his room and Jessica looked out her room daydreaming.

When Griff returned to his clan's shop, the male gargoyle was in a very good mood. Jessica did something to him when she kissed him. It was something very new to him.
As he came in through the balchony on the second floor, he was met by two other gargoyles. His brother, Leo, had a face and mane like a lion. And his sister, Una, looked like a unicorn with the silver headpiece she wore to decorate her flaxen hair.
"Griff, you're home!" Una said, rushing to hug him.
"You were out longer than usual. What was keeping you?" Leo asked when he joined them.
"I made a friend." was all Griff said before he headed inside.

Jessica kept looking out her window as the rain cleared and the moon showed and the stars. Jessica put her hair in a ponytail and looked at the stars. "Oh please hear my prayer stars I don't want this to be a dream. I feel like I'm supposed to be with Griff...don't let anything take that away..." Jessica smiled as she did a butterfly kiss out her window. "To you Griff... I love you...sweet dreams." she laid on her bed and fell asleep.

"A friend? Who? One of us?" Leo asked. He was referring to the question of whether this friend was another gargoyle.
"No, a human. Her name is Jessica, and I met her when a lowlife tried to take advantage of her on the street. When I walked her home, she...kissed me." Griff explained. His siblings jumped in shock at this.
"That was a human sign of affection among humans, Griff." Una stated, a little warily.
"I'm aware of that, Una. I've watched humans do that with each other before. I can't explain it, but things feel right with her. I feel like we are supposed to know each other. And I'm going to get to know her better." Griff said before he turned to head to his own room. His mind was made up.

Jessica was sleeping soundly until nightmares came. It was that jerk who was trying to take her. She cried out to Griff but nothing happened. Then it happened. The dude raped her. She began tossing and turning. She walked around in her nightmare not thinking anything could go worse but it did. She saw a dark figure in an alley. She looked and gasped. "Griff..." she placed his head on her lap. "Oh please be okay..." she cried. Nothing. She woke up. "Stupid nightmares..." Jessica went by her windowseat and sat there looking and daydreaming. "Ohh Griff...I love you so much...I'd do anything for you..." she whispered

Griff was reading a book the next night. But he couldn't concentrate on the words on the page in front of him. Finally, he decided he needed to go see Jessica. He headed out to the second floor landing and took to the air.
'I hope you're home, Jessica.' Griff thought to himself.

Jessica was cooking in kitchen. Her dad was at work. She was humming the song she sang when Griff saved her. She smiled as she placed the food in the oven. "Ohh Griff two days I haven't seen you, and yet it feels like years."

Griff landed just outside her house. The lights were on, but there didn't seem to be a lot going on. He quickly went to the front door and used the knocker on it, hoping someone would answer him.

Jessica heard the door. She quickly freshen up just in case if it Griff. She opened her door and sure enough it was. She smiled "Hey Griff...come on in. I'm just making dinner."

"Well thank you, Miss Jessica. That's very kind of you to offer." Griff replied. He came inside, looking around at everything he saw as he came in.
"Your family must be rich." he commented, off-handedly.

Jessica frowned "Yea I guess...money isn't that important to me unlike my father...he's obsessed with our money. I guess you get that way for owning a huge wine company...which reminds me.." Jessica pulled out two glasses and pulled out the finest wine theyve made, poured in the glasses. "Wine..." she handed Griff a glass as she set the timer for two hours and sat on the lounge chair. "I hate being rich...deals with greed and lust..." Jessica took a sip of the wine.

Griff accepted the glass of wine. He took a drink without worry of becoming drunk. Gargoyles had stronger livers than humans. As he took a seat, an idea came to him.
"Jessica, would you like to see the shop my clan owns and works in? If you have an interest in things mystical, it's a place you would like." Griff commented.

Jessica smiled. That made her spirits boost. "Sure let me write a note to daddy..." she said as she ran upstairs and changed her outfit. She wore a black and white strapless summerdress and put her hair in a ponytail and put on her mom's heart pendent necklace on. She quickly wrote the note and ran downstairs. "How'd you think? Prefect day for a summerdress..." she said as she twirled and giggled as wrapped her arm around his. "Guide the way kind sir," she said as she left the note on the door.

"Do you have a place up high in the house where we could take off from the air? It would by faster if I carried you on the wind there instead of walking." Griff explained as he got to his feet.

Jessica smiled and nodded. "We could use my room's balcony..." Jessica took Griff's hand and took him to her room and opened the balcony's door. She grabbed his hands. "I'm ready when you are...I trust you..." Jessica said as the winds kick up.

"Alright then. Let's get going." Griff picked Jessica up, holding her bridal style. His wings opened their full width and he leapt off. The wind caught him and they were soon on their way.

Jessica smiled as the wind had them. She looked at Griff. "Such Mysterious eyes..." she thought as they reached their point of interest. "Oh my...it's wonderful..." she said in awe.

An old wooden sign with the words Into the Mystic hung above the front door. Griff set her back on her feet once they landed. He then offered his arm to escort her inside.
"Welcome to my clan's home, Miss Jessica." Griff said as he opened the door and a bell jingled to let the occupants know someone was there.

Jessica was filled with awe as she wrapped her arm around Griff's. "It's wonderful..." Jessica's eyes sparkling with awe and wonder.

"I thought you might like this. This shop is full of books about all things magic and magic charms for sale. Most who come in here don't believe in this stuff though. They often pass us off as people in costumes and masks." Griff told her.

Jessica smiled as she looked around. She found a white dress with lace but it was hidden. She smiled as she went and got it as she tried it on. She walked out with it on "Ta da..Griff..how you think...pretty magical?"

When Griff saw Jessica with that dress, his heart seemed to skip a beat. He had looked at that dress numerous times in the past. But seeing it with her looked so perfect together.
"Yes, rather...enchanting." he murmured, spellbound for a brief minute.

Jessica blushed. "Awww thanks...umm bout the other day with the kiss..." Jessica started to say "I...I'm sorry...it was too straightforward...I was hoping we could try again..." Jessica held out her hand. "Hi I'm Jessica..." In secret she didnt wanna do this; she wanted to kiss him again.

"Think nothing of it. My name is Griff, at your service." Griff replied. He took her hand and placed a kiss on it. But something else pushed him to do more. Being a gargoyle, Griff really didn't know anything about kissing, though that didn't discourage the thought driving him now. He pulled her closer and kissed her lips for the first time.

Jessica went along with the kiss adding a bit of tongue. "Nice to ... Meet you Griff..." Jessica said between kisses and gasps of air.
