Alidia was shocked. "Wow."

When Vlad found the illustration of a Muktar in the book, he wasn't entirely surprised. It was said that they had a reptilian appearance. The picture showed a tall, lank figure with large snake-like eyes, a flat face, and pronounced lips. It wouldn't surprise the Count if there were fangs hidden in that mouth.
"So, that's what we need to look for." Vlad murmured.

Alidia shuddered at the picture. But when she really looked at it, she understood what she had to keep an eye out for.

"There's a footnote below this picture. 'While Muktars are not usually sociable with those outside their one race, they have been known to make bonds with others. They have a strict code of honor that rules everything they do. If they owe someone a debt, a Muktar will always pay it as they cannot deal with a guilty concience. This illustration was drawn by an artist who saved a Muktar's life.'" Vlad read from the book out loud.

"Uh, thats interesting," Alidia said.

"Yes indeed. Perhaps we won't be taking on someone who will be like a shadow lurking in the dark after all. And as a young male, he may be more inclined to socialize with the other students here." Vlad suggested, hopefully.

"Roger that, dad." Alidia saluted.

Vlad had to grin at her with a laugh. It was nice to have her here to help. He cast a glance at the picture before turning back to her.
"Alidia, have you ever heard of Muktars before today? You seemed a little nervous when I mentioned them as the subject for my research." Vlad inquired.

"No dad, cant say I havent. And I thought you were talking bout the hunters." Alidia said.

"This concerns them. I believe this will be an asset to the school's protection from them. Not too long ago, the wind whispered to me that one of these beings was coming to Blanditia. I have this feeling that he will aid in protecting everyone." Vlad explained.

Alidia had a sigh of relief. "Okay, then." She took a couple of breaths.

"Now you see why this is important. I worry about when they may strike next. As soon as I heard of this, I just needed to learn more for the sake of keeping the school safe." Vlad told her.

"We'll both keep this place safe, no what the risks." Alidia said, "We will work together." She hugged her dad. She was a bit scared but she dare not say anything.

Vlad smiled at this and hugged her back. After letting her go, he returned the book to her.
"Unfortunately, there isn't much I can learn on the subject from one book. People today hardly know Muktars existed at one time. There must be other books here with something we can learn." Vlad mused.

Alidia wanted to help then it hit her. "Wait dad, how bout we try the restricted area?"

Shanti raised her look when the man spoke to her, he asked something about strange creatures that she had never heard before; so how could she help him? She was ready to reply at him when a voice came from behind. It ws Alidia and apparentely that man was her father! She jumped when she heard that new, actually they didn't look like each other she she would have never guessed it!

She smiled as Alidia introduced her at him but she didn't speak and she just stood up watching them starting the research, without know what to do or say since she felt like a fish out of water.

Vlad's eyes got wide. It was a surprising suggestion from her. He never would have pegged Alidia for finding ways around rules.
"The restricted area? Are you sure that's a good idea?" Vlad asked, a little nervous.

Alidia giggled, "If I didnt know better, dad, you are scared."

"I am not scared, Alidia. I am merely questioning if you know what you're doing. If this goes against any rules." Vlad corrected her, emphasizing his point.

"I'm sure that it'll help us. Let's go dad." Alidia grabbed Shanti's and her dad's hand.

Vlad exclaimed in surprise when Alidia grabbed both him and Shanti and proceeded to pull them along through the library. He looked over at the younger girl and gave her a look that said 'Looks like we're going along for the ride.' Clearly, nothing stopped her when she put her mind to it.

Alidia was looking the shelves of books trying to find the specific one. Then she found it, " A Tale of Two Cities" Alidia opened the book and faced the shelve facing north and quoted the first lines. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." and then the shelves rose up as a secret passage was showed with the stairway. Alidia started to walk in, "Are you guys coming?"

"How did you find out about this place?" Vlad asked right away. He couldn't help it. He was just amazed at her right now.

Alidia turned around to face her dad. "I was looking around when Athena and Ariel first took me in and I went exploring and I found this place. Its like my thinking room and the restricted area all in one," Alidia smiled she had other secrets that people didnt know. She noticed her paintings where still hanging on the wall. She looked at the one she did if she was a vampire like her "family"
"Hey Princess Ali, long time." Alidia whispered.

'Charming place. It almost makes Castle Poenari seem cheerful.' Vlad thought to himself. The place made him uneasy. It almost felt as if the walls had eyes to him.
